Paul Whitehouse, 62, who stars in Gone Fishing alongside Bob Mortimer, 61, has opened up about his relationship with his late father and described him as a "calm figure". While the Mortimer and Whitehouse star went into detail about his memories with his dad, he also revealed one "regret" he has about the BBC series involving him. He went on to explain that his dad died aged 86 and the "influence" he had on him was "very positive". Bob had to undergo heart surgery back in after doctors told him he risked having a heart attack on stage, had he and comedy partner Vic Reeves gone ahead with a live tour the same year. Bob, who presented Shooting Stars, previously spoke out about his triple-heart bypass after he discovered that 95 per cent of his arteries were blocked five years ago. While he was recovering from his procedure, he was invited by his pal Paul to go on a fishing trip. They then made the series, which follows them travelling across the country visiting some of the best places to fish. Paul explained: "His treatment had been significantly worse than expected, but I badgered him to come out fishing at Stockbridge on the River Test.
