I am firmly team Sleep in the Nude. You know, for science. By sleeping in the buff at night or wearing cotton-only underwear , Dr. Pai says that you can ward off future vaginal infections by decreasing the amount of moisture that surrounds your vagina or vulva. However, Dr. Pai says sleeping without underwear can be a good idea. Just make sure you go for cotton, because fabrics like nylon or lace can be irritating to your vulva. Pai concludes. Coincidentally, this is also my new life motto. A gyno weighs in.
In bed, at least. It turns out there are tonnes of science-backed reasons why you should embrace a little nudity at night. Sleeping naked, and lowering your body temperature in the process, shifts your sleep to the deeper stages you need to feel truly rested, according to research. And, if you have a vagina, sleeping naked could help it 'breathe', as wearing underwear increases its temperature and moisture. The vagina certainly does need to breathe and that can be accomplished by sleeping without underwear. This will cool you down, air you out, and may prevent yeast infections which usually happen in moist, and warm areas of the body. However, there isn't any deciding scientific evidence out there to prove it's better for the vagina to sleep without underwear. Anyone can post in open comments. Many people wear pajamas, large tees and underwear, or another type of comfortable attire in bed. However, there may be a number of health benefits associated with sleeping naked. In this article, we take a look at some of the potential health benefits of sleeping with nothing on. In fact, according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke , poor quality sleep can negatively impact energy levels, memory, and mental performance. In addition to improving the quality of sleep, sleeping naked may also help a person fall asleep faster. According to the National Sleep Foundation , body temperature is a key part of the circadian rhythm. The circadian rhythm is a biological clock that regulates when people sleep and wake up. Body temperature changes throughout the day, gradually decreasing throughout the evening and night. This temperature decline partly explains why people begin to feel sleepy at night.
