Yoshi's Story [a] is a side-scrolling platform game published and developed by Nintendo for the Nintendo It was first released in Japan in December , and worldwide the following year. It was the first Yoshi platformer not to be produced nor directed by Shigeru Miyamoto , although he contributed design ideas. The score was composed by Kazumi Totaka , who provided the voice of Yoshi in the game. Serving as a follow up to the Super NES title Yoshi's Island , the game continues within the platform genre, presenting gameplay similar to its predecessor.

The gameplay possesses similar mechanics to the Yoshi's Island series of games, but it does not include Baby Mario. An unnamed Yoshi tech demo was unveiled at the time of the Game Boy Advance 's first announcement. The title was seemingly either a port or a direct sequel to Yoshi's Story , but it is unknown if it was simply meant as a demo or was canceled. Years later, a spin-off title called Yoshi Topsy-Turvy was released, which featured the same art style and mechanics as Yoshi's Story and was perceived as a sequel. The game sold 1.

This is a list of music tracks pertaining to the Yoshi universe in Super Smash Bros. Unlike the remix that appeared in Brawl , this remix of the overworld theme from Yoshi's Island is accompanied by a lively arrangement of the music box opening from the beginning of the game. At the end of the song, before it loops, an arrangement of the world map theme can be heard. It plays on Yoshi's Island during its spring and summer phases.
