I'm aware that full nudity is not accepted in public in new orleans but are their hotels near bourbon st where my wife could get away with swimming naked in the pool or walking from pool to room naked? Oddly enough, just yesterday, the local food writer reviewed an establishment called the Country Club in the Bywater area that has a clothing-optional pool area. There's a restaurant connected to it. You have to join the club for a nominal fee to access the pool - I suspect anyone can join - but anyone can go to the restaurant. This is not in the Quarter, but is a short cab ride away you'll have to be clothed for that. The Country Club is pretty much "anything goes" for nudity so it won't be a problem there. However, the clientele is heavily but not all gay men so keep that in mind.

It was his own secret. This odd little man of dwarfish proportions had a way of putting women at ease. Perhaps it was his diminutive stature. Or plain pity for the balding photographer with hydrocephalus. People in Storyville knew E. Bellocq as a regular at the brothels and burlesques along Basin Street. From to prostitution was all but legalized in Storyville. A proto- Hamsterdam with its own train station, where newly arrived tourists could quickly get their bearings by grabbing a copy of the Storyville Bluebook —a comprehensive guide to the name, address, and race of every prostitute in town. By all accounts Bellocq was an unspectacular man.
No lewds, plenty of nudes
I've heard the stories about Bourbon Street and expected debauchery on display, and I know that women, for some inexplicable reason, feel the need to bare their breasts to strangers there. But I was still shocked to see nude dancers on the bars in some of bars. We approached Bourbon Street from Royal Street, and as we walked up to Bourbon street we looked into the wide open double doors of the bar across the street where a naked young man and woman were dancing on the bar and the man was fondling himself. We turned quckly to walk down Bourbon Street and immediately saw a young man and young woman dancing naked in street side windows to a bar. I did not expect to see naked young men and women dancing where they could be seen from the street.
